SODA POP SHOP

Sense-Ability Ensemble
Cotton and Candy characters stand by a pinball machine in the Soda Pop Shop.

SODA POP SHOP! is a 1950s style interactive musical that centers on the main character Jitterbug, who is a nervous and jittery bug. He is uncomfortable with noise and chaos, and is worried about attending the grand opening celebration of the shop. Through music, calming exercises, focus and friendship, Jitterbug is able to enjoy the afternoon, and his friends learn about true acceptance and inclusion. SODA POP SHOP has been modified to perform via Zoom for families with children who are neurodiverse. Performances are on 3/08/21, 3/15/21, 3/22/21, 3/28/21 & 4/5/21 at 5:00 PM and are FREE for participating families. SODA POP SHOP performs LIVE to a limited number of children at a time, and the show runs approximately 40 minutes. To book, please email Outreach Coordinator, Sam Carter at Carte392@msu.edu or Director, Dionne O’Dell at Odelldio@msu.edu. Dates fill on a first come first serve basis. Families will be provided with a social narrative and Zoom instructions prior to the show.
