Professional Development Programs

TYA/USA cultivates and develops excellence in the field of TYA through a range of professional development programs.

TYA/USA Professional Development Programs are designed to offer dynamic opportunities for growth, discovery, and exchange to practitioners in the field of Theatre for Young Audiences.

Emerging Leader Fellowship

Founded in 2017, the TYA/USA Emerging Leader Fellowship supports the career development of emerging TYA students and professionals, providing the opportunity to explore and seek mentorship in the national field of TYA. Fellows are funded to travel domestically to connect with an inspiring mentor or organization, and see their work in practice. Fellows are also offered the opportunity to exchange with their cohort, as well as seek mentorship and ongoing support from the TYA/USA Staff and Board throughout the year.

Emerging Leader Fellowship

Circle Program

A Peer-learning initiative for self-identified mid-career TYA/USA members designed to strengthen connections across the field fostering mutual growth, reflection, and support.

TVY Development Program

The Alliance Theatre & TYA/USA TVY Development Program supports a new Theatre for Very Young Audiences show with funding, residency, and mentorship support at Alliance Theatre, and presented workshops at the TYA/USA Festival & Conference and Woodruff Art Center's Toddler Takeover, powered by PNC.
