Hook & Eye Theater is seeking Teaching Artists for multiple opportunities in Spring 2027. Our after-school Collaborative Playmaking Program at PS 130 in Brooklyn is looking for Teaching Artists / Co-Directors to co-lead weekly theater workshops with students in Grades 3–5. The work centers on devising, improvisation, ensemble-building, and helping young people create original theater together. Teaching Artists will share leadership and need to be both strong facilitators and organized, communicative collaborators. The position is Wednesdays, 2:30–5:30 PM, at $50/hour, plus paid hours for preparation, collaboration, and communication.

We are also seeking Teaching Artists for in-school residencies at Virgil I. Grissom Middle School 226 in South Ozone Park, Queens. These residencies partner with ELA or Social Studies teachers to bring literature, history, and primary sources to life through movement, improvisation, writing, and theatrical exploration. Residencies are 12 – 16 weeks long and may or may not culminate in a student sharing. $50/hour, plus paid hours for prep, meetings, and travel.
