The Seasonal Education Manager (SEM) reports to the Director of Education during the summer season. The SEM will serve as a key member of the Education team and acts as lead teaching artist and advisor to a team of Education Apprentices. The SEM will make strong artistic contributions to the success of our youth productions by overseeing Youth Workshop Productions and camp activities.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to, maintaining the daily camp schedule, assisting in creating curriculum, overseeing the daily implementation of curriculum, assisting with external communications, attending production meetings, and supporting a culture of generosity and empathy.
Day to Day duties:
- Teach camps as assigned
- Run and oversee Drop Off and Pick Up along with Director of Education
- Make copies/ gather materials for daily lessons (purchases must be approved by Director of Education)
- Manage enrollment and contact information for each camp
- Give breaks to staff. Step in and lead/cover for teachers who need a break while teaching.
- SEM will be present for lunch time and offer other staff members a short break to get lunch and use the restroom as needed along with the Director of Education.
- SEM will be responsible for making sure staff are following camp schedules and cohorts are moving from space to space at the appropriate times; including restroom breaks and snack and lunch breaks.
- Other duties as assigned.
CONTRACT DATES:
Start: June 2nd (some flexibility)
End: August 23rd (some flecibility)
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a teaching artist. Candidates with Spanish language fluency or previous experience in an ESL environment are encouraged to apply.
In accordance with national standards and practices, all potential SEM’s are subject to a federal background check.
Shared housing and a weekly stipend of $700 are provided for the duration of the contract (June 2nd – August 23rd).
Typical hours are 8:00am-5pm M-F with some Saturday Performances.
