TIGER (Theatre Integrating Guidance, Education and Responsibility)
Plymouth, New Hampshire

TIGER (Theatre Integrating Guidance, Education, and Responsibility) is looking for a male performer for its 2021-2022 Season. TIGER is an Emmy-Award winning musical educational theatre company based at Plymouth State University.

Successful candidates will be actor, singer, dancers (or some combination of those skills) with the ability to take on multiple characters and to work well with young people. This is a GREAT opportunity for someone who has recently graduated from a Theatre for Young Audiences or Theatre Education undergraduate or graduate program who wants to gain experience performing for young people in a well-established touring theatre that travels throughout New England.

Rehearsals are full-time in September with the part-time tour three days a week, beginning in October and finishing up in May. The five-actor troupe performs 45 minute musical theatre education performances on social-emotional issues faced by young people today, and often conducts theatre in education workshops after the performance in classrooms. We enjoy a wonderful reputation with schools, and do all we can to make a difference in the lives of children.

Actors are paid $12 hourly, including time spent in rehearsals and while traveling to and from performance venues in the TIGER van, and are employees of Plymouth State University. As employees, actors have access to University facilities such as parking, pool, ice rink, track, gym, and library. The opportunity also exists to apply for and complete an MEd in Integrated Arts in a year while performing with TIGER. Financial Aid is available.

Interested actors must relocate to within a 45-minute distance from Plymouth, NH and will ideally live locally, as the van leaves from Plymouth, NH. The area is beautiful, close to the White Mountains for skiing and hiking and lakes for boating, skating and swimming. This is a part-time gig with full-time rewards. TIGER actors work with an award-winning team in a well-established and beloved touring educational theatre company, empowering young people every day.
