Location: Seattle Children’s Theatre
Contract Type: AEA TYA (or non-AEA equivalent)
The Opportunity
Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia is seeking an Emergency Fill-In Stage Manager for our current touring production at the Seattle Children’s Theatre. We need a professional, calm-under-pressure individual to step in immediately to ensure our remaining performances run smoothly for our young audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Show Calling: Execute precise calling of light cues for a 60-minute TYA production.
- Deck Coordination: Work alongside a stagehand who will manage physical hand-offs and backstage transitions.
- Safety: Maintain a safe environment for performers and staff.
- Reporting: Maintain standard rehearsal/performance logs and communication with the home office in Nova Scotia.
Schedule & Duration
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible.
End Date: Friday, May 22nd, 2026.
Requirements
- Experience: Must be an AEA Stage Manager or possess equivalent professional stage management experience.
- Certifications: Current First Aid/CPR training is required.
- Location: We are only considering local Seattle or surrounding area candidates at this time. No travel or housing is provided for this emergency fill-in role.
Compensation
Rate: AEA TYA Stage Manager weekly minimum (pro-rated as applicable).
