Oklahoma Children’s Theatre provides exciting theatre and arts-based experiences to children throughout Oklahoma. OCT is well known for quality live productions, school-break camps, afterschool and weekend classes, student productions, and special events. Throughout, we place an emphasis on education and positive child development.
OCT is searching for a professional who is excited to work in the non-profit sector and help advance our mission to provide extraordinary live theatre and interactive educational experiences for young audiences.
This position requires a self-starter professional with experience in nonprofit development and communications. All staff roles require a high level of self-motivated independent work, ability to problem-solve, and be a versatile player to advance the Theatre’s mission. The Director of Community Engagement will be a key member of our dynamic team.
This position will be charged with leading the theatre’s fundraising and development efforts with an emphasis on diversifying our funding streams. Experience managing donor data and databases is a must. This position will report to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Work with Executive Director and Board to formulate and implement development strategies.
- Steward relationships with existing funders; find new financial resources through research of local, state, and federal grant opportunities; oversee the grant-writing process; plan and manage events related to fundraising; and identify new funding streams to create long term sustainability.
- Manage grant applications and reporting deadlines.
- Maintain donor database and data integrity.
- Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and grants.
- Attend events and other functions on behalf of OCT.
- Manage and develop direct appeals.
- Assist in Bulk Mailings
- Coordination of Events
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Proficient in GSuite/Google Products
- Background and understanding of central Oklahoma development landscape
- Experience working in non-profit development
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage your own time and prioritize projects
- Positive attitude
- A passion for the performing arts, arts education, and/or community engagement through the arts is essential.
Benefits & Salary
- $50,000 – $60,000/year salaried
