Your Impact

• Engage and Inspire: Directly impact the lives of every student at a dynamic public elementary school through 18-20 hours of weekly instruction, using theatre to enhance literacy and communication skills. • Professional Experience: You have a demonstrated history of working in theatre, particularly with a focus on educating young students. Experience in elementary education is essential, as this role demands a deep understanding of integrating arts into core curriculum areas, especially literacy.

A Day in the Life

• Morning Engagement: Start your day energized as you prepare and deliver interactive theatre-based lessons that make literacy concepts engaging and accessible. Use your theatrical skills to bring stories to life, helping students develop a deeper understanding of language and communication.
• Active Collaboration: Spend midday hours working closely with classroom teachers to integrate theatre arts into the broader curriculum. This collaboration might involve co- planning upcoming units, discussing student progress and adapting strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Afternoon Creativity: Lead rehearsals for school plays or special performances, providing students with opportunities to rehearse and showcase their theatrical talents. This hands-on experience not only enhances their confidence but also reinforces collaboration and communication skills.
• Community Connection: Occasionally participate in workshops or community arts events, which strengthen the bond between CAP and the wider community. These activities highlight the role the arts play in fostering community engagement and cultural appreciation.
• Reflection and Planning: Wrap up your day by using data to reflect on the successes and learning opportunities of the day. Plan for future lessons, considering how best to address student needs and make the most of the educational experience the next day.
