Tour Stage Manager

Job Title: Tour Stage Manager
Start Date: Immediately
End Date: May 10
Pay: Weekly Salary plus daily per diem

The duties of the Tour Stage Manager shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Execute rehearsal schedule setup by the director and/or producer
  • Communicate regularly with creative team and production manager via rehearsal reports about any production needs that come up during rehearsals, previews, and performances
  • Attend all necessary rehearsals, tech rehearsals, and understudy rehearsals
  • Attend all production meetings
  • Advance each performance with venue to arrange schedules, load ins, laundry, hospitality etc
  • Drive vehicle(s) transporting set, costumes, props, and actors as needed for touring purposes. Must be comfortable/have experience driving 17 foot box truck, driving in harsh weather conditions (snow) and large cities.
  • Be present for load-in and strike at all venues
  • Work with tour TD to ensure all aspects of production are set up in an appropriate time frame
  • Be able to instruct union crews in each venue and feel comfortable leading a team
  • Communicate with house staff at each venue regarding house and box office needs
  • Be in communication with BACT production staff with thorough performance reports following each performance on the road
  • Be in communication with actors around scheduling of all aspects of the show as it relates to them, (i.e. daily calls, rehearsals, performances, understudy rehearsals, technical rehearsals, driving schedules, tour updates etc.)
  • Generate and maintain show specific paperwork including calling script
  • Call show at each venue
  • Maintain costumes and props on the road. Includes minor repairs and maintenance
  • Coordinate with Director of Production for strike of set, costumes, props at the end of tour
